Moscatel Alambre de Setubal José Maria da Fonseca is a fortified wine with a Controlled Denomination of Origin (D.O.C.), recognized since 1907. Moscatel de Setúbal is made from the muscat variety, which is a type of grape that stands out for its fruity character, molasses with an aroma of tropical fruit, differentiating muscatel wines from any other type of wine.

A family business with almost two centuries of history that, without ever resting on the glories achieved, has known how to modernize. José Maria da Fonseca has been involved in winemaking since 1834, the result of the shared passion of a family that has known how to preserve and project the memory and prestige of its founder. Aware of the responsibility of being currently the oldest producer of table wine and Moscatel de Setúbal in Portugal, José Maria da Fonseca follows a philosophy of permanent development, which leads it to invest more and more in research and of production, combining the most modern techniques with traditional knowledge. An example of this is the Adega José de Sousa Rosado Fernandes, in Reguengos de Monsaraz, Alentejo, where the Roman tradition of fermenting in clay pots remains abreast of the latest technology.
