Produced from the Castelão and Alicante Bouschet grape varieties, planted on the Setúbal Peninsula where the grapes present excellent maturation conditions that enhance the personality of each of the varieties. These varieties, Castelão and Alicante Bouschet, find the ideal terroir, for rich, full-bodied, mouth-watering and complex wines, in the low-production vineyards on the sandy soils of Palmela. The two varieties were vinified separately using a traditional method and kept separately until the creation of the final batch. Half of the wine passed through French oak for a period of more than 6 months. Catarina is a wine that presents a pleasant balance between the characteristic aromas of grape varieties and wood, with a long gustatory persistence.
