Offley Rosé is a young and versatile Port Wine, the brand's latest proposal that combines modernity with almost three centuries of experience. The new Offley Rosé combines the freshness and delicacy characteristic of a rosé wine with the elegance and charisma normally associated with Port Wine. The versatility of Offley Rosé takes Port Wine along paths never explored before. Offley Porto Rosé is vinified using the traditional methods used in rosé wines. The grapes, harvested by hand, are de-stemmed, crushed and immediately pressed, in order to avoid too long contact with the skins, where the color is concentrated, resulting in pink musts. A gentle decantation follows to remove larger particles, after which cold fermentation takes place. As with other Port Wines, fermentation is stopped by the addition of a wine brandy, which gives rise to a fortified wine. The wines remain in the Douro until they are transported to Offley's century-old cellars in V.N.Gaia the following spring, where they evolve in stainless steel vats in order to maintain their original freshness and avoid excessive oxidation. The wine is tasted several times until it is considered to be in the ideal state of maturation to produce the final batch. This is subsequently stabilized by cold before being bottled.
