Alvarinho and Palácio da Brejoeira are almost synonymous. It is the producer with the most history and tradition in the production of wines from this variety, and it could almost be said that it was because of it that Alvarinho white wine became known and has the status it has today. Quinta da Brejoeira is located in Monção and is a property with 30 hectares, of which 18 are vineyards exclusively planted with Alvarinho. The ex-libris of the farm and the region is its palace, a grandiose construction in neoclassical style, from the end of the 19th century (1806). D. Hermínia Paes presided over the destinies of this magnificent property and was the great driver of its success. Obtained from the distillation of “pomace” from the Alvarinho grape variety.
