Casa Martell was founded by Jean Martell in 1715, after he left his hometown, Jersey, to settle in France with the aim of perfecting the art of producing Cognac. with the motto "I only want the best, without artificiality". After his death in 1753, his legacy grew under the management of his wife Rachel Martell. Four interesting facts: it is the only one to be exported to England during the Continental Blockade (1807-1808), it was served during the coronation ceremony of King George V of England, in 1911, and during a Gala Dinner to celebrate the Prince's wedding Rainier from Monaco with Grace Kelly. In 1977, passengers on the connecting flight between Paris and New York, made by the legendary Concorde, were able to enjoy a Martell Cordon Bleu, which was also served in 1986 on the legendary Orient Express, which connects Venice and Copenhagen. In 2005, the brand launched the Martell XO, which quickly became a classic and an icon of this House. The 300-year legacy of know-how and passion is celebrated with Jean Martell's L'Or cognac.
