Sou Alvarinho 2018 is a joint project by producer Quinta de Santiago and winemaker and producer Nuno Mira do Ó. It is born from sincere friendship and is inspired by rock, a common passion in addition to wine! A rebellious and authentic wine, a raw and pure expression of the “Terroir” Monção and Melgaço.
Fermentation with indigenous yeasts of 40% of the must in used 400 l barrels, in which 50% underwent malolactic fermentation spontaneously. Slow fermentation of 60% of the must in vat. Aging for 9 months on fine lees and aging in bottle since August 2019.
It is a highly gastronomic wine that, due to its freshness and texture, is capable of accompanying a wide variety of dishes, from a simple tomato salad, to a cockle sherry, some steamed open mussels, a prawn in its spicy bisque, grilled sea bass, succulent tuna o-toro, fried quail, marinated partridge, spicy chicken or Iberian pork tusks.
Complex nose that emerges as the glass aerates, with notes of apricot, lemon leaf, spices, wildflowers and wet stone. In the mouth it shows great texture, freshness and persistence. The acidity is in great harmony with the volume and moderates the aromatic notes in a very long, tense and delicious finish.
