Clos Apalta 2017 Red, a Chilean wine from the Central Valley region - Colchagua Valley. Made by Casa Lapostolle Grapes: Carménère, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon. With a deep garnet appearance, the wine reflects the intense color of the Carmenère grapes and typical aromas of ripe fruits. An abundance of aromas, including blackcurrant, raspberry and wild strawberries, reflect the impressive complexity of merlot, cabernet sauvignon and carmenère. The initial wave of berries, supported by silky smooth tannins, is chased by contrasting touches of black olive, black currant and licorice. Incredibly long and tense on the finish, revealing exquisite and delicate tannins, and expressing the great elegance of the Apalta terroirs.
