Chateau Pape Clément 2016 Red is one of the oldest Grands Crus from the Bordeaux region. The first production dates back to 1252. Bertrand de Goth, the youngest of a noble family in the region and Archbishop of Bordeaux, became Pope in 1305 under the name of Clement V and the Château inherited the name and its wine became a global icon. By combining the richest traditions with advanced techniques, Château Pape Clément wines are developed under the highest standards. Through hard work, in an exceptional terroir, the field produces exceptional wines in two colors. Located in Pessac, a few kilometers from Bordeaux, the 63ha vineyard covers gravel-sandy soils and clay-limestone soils on the iron-rich limestone subsoil.
