The Mouchão 2013 red is the most emblematic wine of Herdade do Mouchão. It is designed based on the Alicante Bouschet grape variety, which found a “terroir” of choice in Herdade do Mouchão and which gives it a unique character. The blending of this variety complemented with Trincadeira gives it greater exoticism and elegance. After fermentation in lagares, the wine ages for 24 months in 5,000 liter barrels made of Portuguese oak, macacaúba and mahogany, and then for a further 24 to 36 months in bottle. The Mouchão 2011 - Red wine has a deep, concentrated color, a spicy character and its unique tannin structure enhances long aging in the bottle.
