Suntory Yamazaki 18 years old made at the Yamazaki distillery located near the town of Shimamoto, in a place called Yamazaki Valley, which served as inspiration for the name of the distillery. Known for producing a sweet, fruity and spicy style. Yamazaki was originally founded by Shinjiro Torii in 1924, becoming the first commercial distillery in Japan. The location of this distillery was due to the great diversity of water sources and high relative humidity, a suitable environment for the manufacture and maturation of whiskey. Suntory currently has the largest single malt market share in Japan and exports to more than ten countries. The Yamazaki distillery has already received numerous awards and in 2015 Jim Murray from the book Whiskey Bible named Yamazaki Single Malt Sherry Cask 2013 the best whiskey of the year.
