Red Wine Júlio Bastos Dona Maria Grande Reserva 2014

For those who don't know, Júlio Bastos is one of the most emblematic producers in Alentejo. Wine has been produced on this property for approximately 150 years, but it was only after 1988 that its current owner, Júlio Bastos, began to sell nationally and internationally the wines then produced on this Quinta, the famous Garrafeiras of 1985, 1986 and 1987, which have always been recognized for their great quality. Since the beginning of the project, Dona Maria wines have been widely recognized, not only by the general public, but also by opinion leaders. With high scores in the renowned international magazines WineSpectator, Robert Parker and Wine Enthusiast, as well as in several international competitions, the Great Gold Medal award for the Dona Maria Reserva 2003 wine was a great achievement, as it was, until then, the only wine Portuguese to win this distinction. At the national level the same is repeated. Júlio Bastos, in 2009, received the distinction of “Producer of the Year” by the prestigious “Revista de Vinhos”, as well as several Excellence awards.
